My mother used to tell me that I rush, that I do sometimes things too fast, without paying attention to details; even as a child, she would sometimes say that my tone and way of saying things does not allow other people to respond. I am afraid that without intending, I have a "bossy" tone sometimes when I communicate with people. She also used to tell me "You always know best..." I need to better listen, aknowledge and respect other people's opinions, no matter what. I think fast, but that is not an excuse. In addition, whether at work or with friends, mutual conversation brings always better benefit and result to all participating parties.

"If I hear you use that word again I'll wash your mouth out with soap," She'd say that all the time and she actually tried to wash my mouth out with soap. The last time she tried, I bit off a chunked, chewed it and swallowed and she nearly puked. Never heard that out of her again.

She always told me to "kill 'em with kindness" meaning if you are nice to someone they may just be nice back. For really mean people it just makes them wonder what you are up to. It DOES work!
