I own a 2002 vw. I like how it drives. But I've had a few mechanical problems with it and the interior quality is very poor. Everything breaks or rubs off very quickly. My next car will be a japanese.

I would go for the Volkswagen, definitely. Volkswagen's are amazing, affordable, and very reliable cars! Plus, the Rabbit is much cuter then the caliber. and that's a huge factor for me:)

That's a hard question for me to answer because I never thought about buying either of those cars.

I guess that the Calibers are cool but paying $1,000 for A/C could be a pain.

But, when you pay the $1,000 you also get a refrigerated glove box. Wow, ( sarcastically)!!

Look at all of your options.

Niether... If you want something that will last and be worth your money, look at the Japanese cars like Nissan, Toyota, and Honda. VW constantly have mechanical problems and the Caliber would be just ok if you got the new Turbo edition coming out soon, but Chrysler makes junk to. Domestic Trucks are ok, but stay away from their cars.

If the Volkswagen is a diesel, then get it. Then you can make your own biodiesel fuel for about .50 per gallon. If you get 40 miles per gallon, that's alot of gas money in your back pocket!
