I am in geometry and for some of our answers we have to put answers in the simplest radical form and i am offically confussed! can someone please help i have a test tommorrow and might need to know this!Thanks!

Simplest radical form means:
1.) No radical in denominator. So 1/√3 has to be converted:

1/√3 * √3/√3 = √3 / √3^2 = √3/3.

2.) If there is a square within the radical, pull it out.

If that means you have the square root of a square number, then you won't end up in a radical (i.e. √9 = 3).

If that means you have a square number multiplied by another number, you pull the square root of that square number out. For example:
√27 = √(3^2 * 3) = √9 * √3 = 3√3.

The problem with radicals is there can never be a radical in the denominator of the simplication.

For example 1/root3

This is not in its simplest form because there is a radical on the bottom. What you have to do is multiply the top and bottom by the radical.

1*root3/ root3*root3
= root3/3

This is the simplest form of an equation like that
