I work in finance in downtown Houston and will typically go down to the bars in midtown with my colleagues for happy hour drink, however it seems that every time we go, the bar is always filled with people of all races other than blacks. I’m black and I love diversity but sometimes I wonder why black people primary black women never seem to go to bars. I wonder why

Its all about the music.

The clubs play music "urban" music which is generally preferred by african americans. A bar has a very whitebread connotation, and a lot of times will play country music.

Bars are just plain boring. Sisters love to dance and the stimulation that the club scene offers.
