I have notice there has been a continual effort towards the feminizing of men in society. It is fine that women are strong but does that mean we should tear down the man? Your sincere thoughts.

A very very pertinent question.Weare going overboard in empowering the women. Lets not forget the man still is the bread earner of the family. If a man get a job 99% of the time he is the sole earner and he looks after a family- which he should do, similarly if a women earns she does to improve the living standard of the family at the cost of depriving one man of the earning - which could have been utilised to take care of one more family. Please give it a serious thought. Enpowering our young men is a 'must'

I think it is so ingrained in our culture to put down, mock, and vilify men (and boys) that it will take decades to reverse the trend. Our consumerist society caters to women; hence, while young girls have to deal with body image issues, they are more than compensated in every other area, in which men are portrayed as inept buffoons who can't seem to get anything right.

The argument was made 30 years ago that the portrayal of women in commercials as inept made young women FEEL inept (in other words, a self-fulfilling prophecy). Since the late '70s, the shoe has largely been on the other foot, with men being depicted as the household "moron." wouldn't the SAME logic apply? Aren't commercials, by portraying men as stupid, providing a negative image for boys and young men to identify with?

At the same time as women gain justifiable equality in areas of business and employment, they seem to cling onto their historical victimhood when it's convenient for them. Young women will get in a man's face about some issue, some even going so far as to taunt, and if the man does or says something with which a woman can be perceived as "hurt," she'll shed crocodile tears. really, how can any man compete with that. The end result is that men retreat from the fight. And let me tell you, backing down from altercation after altercation will erode anybody's self esteem.

That is what i see happening to men these days. I'm no doubt getting long winded, but the question requires this verbose an answer. As for me. I do my part by speaking to the injustices (as minor as they may be to others) because I think they have a profound effect on the mindset of young men.
