From Merriam-Webster's dictionary:
Prevent -- to keep from happening or existing to hold or keep back : hinder, stop — often used with from
You can't "prevent" something that's already happened. Since her period is already late, she is probably already pregnant. You need to take a home pregnancy test that promises "early results". First Response Early Result is one of the most sensitive tests on the market.
For the record, every man emits pre-ejaculatory fluid well before they come. These droplets contain thousands of sperm and are more than enough to get a woman pregnant. Just ask how many women on this board got pregnant while their partner pulled out or withdrew at the last minute.
So 12 days of unprotected sex with a fertile young woman is a great way of garaunteeing pregnancy. Keep this in mind for future.

At this stage, if she did have semen enter her, she already IS pregnant. There's no preventing what already happened. Prevent means BEFORE.
Also, Michael F is wrong. A D&C of a living baby IS an abortion. It's a procedure that abortionists use. If you rip a living baby (no matter how old- 12days past conception) from the uterine wall, it's an abortion. A D&C is also a procedure used on women who's babies have died (miscarriage).

If it was only 12 days, she might be able to have a D & C, which isn't really like a full-fledged abortion. I'd move quick on it though. Or rather, she should move quick on it if she decides to. It's out of your hands now, and you two really should have either waited until you're married, or used protection (the former would have been a better option). At this point, it *might not* be too late to have a D & C.

Wow, well, all you can do from that standpoint is...1) think about what you are doing! Why would you have unprotected sex and then want to know how you could stop pregnancy? Hellloooo? and 2) just wait and see what happens... Good luck either way. I hope it works out for you.

Um..yeah. Condoms, spermicide, abstinence is a sure thing. Why did you not check this out before the 12 day boink fest? If she IS pregnant now you'll have to think about a new range of options.
