having a baby as a teenager is not good at all. You don't have a steady income and most teen pregnancies end up with the girl being by herself and the boy leaving. It is best waiting till later in life when you have a job and a man who will not leave you if you are pregnant. The best birth control would be abstinence which is 100% effective against birth. The second best option would be a condom with spermicide since that prevents some STDs if used properly. No birth control can lead to HIV, AIDS, genital herpes and warts. Sex is risky as a teenager

If the teen is sexual active, then birth control is probably a good option. But it shouldn't stop the teen from using a condom too.

Birth control can also be used to help with imbalanced hormones and acne.

I think that talking to them about safety is the best thing for teens. Birth control gives the illusion that unprotected sex is okay. I don't think teens are old enough nor mature enough to be having sex let alone consider STD that could potentially be terminal. I think that encouraging condoms is the best thing. It's double protection, though not 100%....it's still better than not getting pregnant but coming home with HIV.

Everybody's life and circumstances are different therefore my answer to your question is that if the teen plans to be sexually active then take all the precautions that are available out there so that the unthinkable does not happen.

This is why they publicise safe sex.

Lets face it, teenagers do have alot of peer group pressure on them from their peers regarding sex, but hopefully the act is done when the person feels the time is right and not from pressure from their peers.

If a teen doesn't want to walk around with a baby at a young age then yes it's for them too.
