I just saw the lake house and i was majorly confused about the ending!!!!!! How did Alex(Keanu Reeves) suddenly jump ahead 2 years and is then in the same time as Kate(Sandra Bullock)????This has been bugging me and i cant figure it out!!!!!THANKS!!!!

Even though in the movie he was in the past she knew that he would still be there in the future also.
But at the beginning of the movie she seen him die but didn't know that it was him until later in the movie.
When she saved him from getting hit by the bus that is when they could finally meet because he was alive in the future also.

Well Kate sent a letter that was sent 2 years back so when he recieved it was 2 years earlier. He waited for her for two years and they met up. I looked into this movie to deep then what it was. Just think 2 years apart. Its almost like 2 movies just one takes place 2 years ago.

Funny. I asked my mom the same question last night after she told me she had watched it the night before. She didn't know, either. That seems to be a common occurance among people who have seen this movie. That means they made it badly (big surprise).
