oh dear i think you offended some people, my go:
Englishman, scotishman and an irishman apply to join the army. 1st initiation test they are put outside a shed and told "your wife is in that shed, you are to take this rifile and go inside and shoot her, to prove you are committed to the army".
Englishman goes in & after a while comes out & say's "sorry i can't do it" the army bids him farewell.
The scotsman takes the rifile, goes into his shed then comes back out and say's "i can;t kill my wife" the army bids him farewell.
The irishman takes his rifile & walks into his shed, after a short moment they hear BANG BANG BANG, the irishman walks out of the shed & say's "there was no bullets in that rifile so i had to beat her to death"

That is really sad, considering my brother in law just lost his wife to brain cancer. She was my best friend.
I understand this was a joke but, it can still be sad as applied to real life.
