Alright tards, let's start with who has been chosen so far. Theodore was born in Canada. Lidstrom was born in Sweden (Europe) and Kariya was also born in Canada. Therefore, all of those answers should be striken from the record. So let's look at some actual statistics.
Willi Plett (Paraguay): 437 pts
Rod Langway (Taiwan): 329 pts
Nikolai Antropov (Kazakhstan): 167 pts
Those are the three best non-Northern American, non-Euro/Russian players based on points.
Don't forget, however, Olaf Kolzig who was born in South Africa. Of course, he's a goalie, so he doesn't have as many points, but he's good as a goaltender.

I would say probably one of the best OVERALL players would be Robyn Regehr!
He does it all, kills penalties, plays the point on the PP, goes up against the top forwards in the league and has been a + player the last 3 years! And he was born in Brazil and grew up in Indonesia...
May not be flashy but one of the best non-NA/EU players around for sure.
Honourable Mention: Yutaka Fukufuji (JP). This kid is the new International Face of the NHL!

The question's a little obscure, but I will interpret it as the best player not from North America.
If that is the question, then it's Jaromir Jagr who is the highest scoring non-north american in the history of the NHL.
BTW, Kazakhstan was a former Russian state and Rod Langway's dad was American and he grew up in the US.

Jaromir Jagr is the all-time leading scorer amongst non-North American born players with 1, 513 points (615 goals and 898 assists). Stan Mikita is second with 1,467 points (541 goals and 926 assists). Jari Kurri is third all-time amongst non-North American born players with 1,398 points (601 goals and 797 assists). Currently, it would have to be Marian Hossa, who has 90 points this year (40 goals and 50 assists). However, all-time, it would have to be Jaromir Jagr, because he has all those scoring records for foreign players.

You guys are all idiots. Paul Kariya is Canadian, and so is Jose Theodore, so they ARE from North America.
The best European player ever was Tretiak, but since he never played in the NHL, I'd have to say Pavel Bure.

Jagr is a great player will be in the Hall of Fame for sure. Hossa is the next generation of European player fast and great stick handling. The Thrashers are a lucky team.

I think the wording is confusing.
Best European ever - Kurri or Jagr. I'd go Jaromir simply because he's been a star since he pulled on a Pens Jersey way back when.
