Hey ladies!! I am proud to announce that I am 16weeks into my pregnancy, also curious to know and to ask if any of you ever felt some kind of twitching movements on the lower area of your stomach a couple of inches from the side of the belly button (Im not sure how to describe the feeling, but its sort of like when your eye twitches, something like that), or like if there's a little finger under the skin slighty poking. Im not sure if thats the baby starting to move or kick, but it was just weird since today as I was logging in to my computer I felt these constant vibrations about five times (about 3-5inches from my belly button on the left side. I am sure it was not gas!!! Please leave your comments, and I hope not to sound retarded!!! Thanks!!

Oh you just made me smile. That is definitely your baby, so congrats to you on feeling those first movements. You made me smile though when you said weird vibrations. I first felt my baby by those same vibrations. People told me I was crazy. They were like your baby doesn't cause vibrating feelings. I just laughed cuz I knew it was her. I still get it and I am almost 37 weeks. Poking and and all the other stuff is definitely the more noticeable movements. I remember some of my first ones felt like she was tapping like hello mom I am really here.
So congrats to you and I am glad to know that I truly am not crazy with the vibrating thing.

i'm 19 weeks and I get "twitches" too. I had an ultrasound today and I felt a "twitch" but I was looking at the screen and didn't see any movement from the baby. So I think it's just your body stretching and preparing itself to hold a baby.

Aww...that's definitely your baby! I felt the same thing at 16 weeks. It's weird that you describe it the way I do lol, like a finger slightly poking or as I put it, stroking the inside of my belly. Congrats!

It's the baby. Congrats!!! That's what the first movements must feel like to you. Most women will describe them differently, even to those of us who have had kids before. Each one feels a little differently.

That's the baby! I've had 3 kids - it feels like a butterfly vibrating and floating around in there.
Congrats!

You are not retarded! That is exactly how early kicking felt for me. I did not realize it was kicking until 20 weeks because I was feeling for a fluttering or gas (NOT).
Say HI BABY!
What's really interesting is when baby is bigger and gets the hiccups and your whole belly shakes.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

That sounds like you're feelin' the baby! Congrats! The way I thought it felt when I first felt it was like my pulse had moved to my tummy, and my heart was beating against my skin.
