As a UK man I can tell you British politicians are as thick as pig **** but I stand in awe at the stupidity of American politicians. Take for example Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney.

Politics is no longer about being "clever". It's about being slimy and deceitful - yet all the while presenting oneself as charming and articulate.
It's about soundbites and marketing, headlines and focus groups. The days when one stood up and fought for "ideals" are long gone.
Only the most basic level of intelligence is required; the rest is spin.
