It depends on the degree of which the cord is around the neck.
If it's severe- and cutting off blood supply, it's extremely important to get the baby out safely. (And this may mean c-section) A vaginal delivery may pose an added risk because the cord may tighten as the baby descends and delivers- so again... it depends on the degree in which the cord is wrapped.
Err on the side of caution and listen to what your doctor says.

no. only if it is weakening the oxygen supply to the brain. If the umbilical cord gets tighter, then they may do a c section. That only happens if the cord is shorter than usual, or the baby's foot is on the cord and kicks it tight. Pretty rare.
It's actually pretty common for the doctor to have to remove the cord from around the neck during vaginal birth. No biggie.

I think Cesareans are only required if the baby is breach (feet down), you have had a Cesarean in the past, or you have some complication requiring premature delivery (like a severe drop in white blood cells, I forget the name of that condition.. oh now I remember .. preclampsia).

No you don't necessarily need a c-section just because the baby has the umbilical cord around it's neck. My daughter had the cord around her neck three times and I delivered vaginally but they they weren't going to let me push for a long time. I pushed 20 minutes with her and 5 minutes with my second baby.

Nope, two of my kids had the cord around their neck and were delivered vaginally. It depends on that baby's stats and if it's wrapped tightly. Both were fine and are now, too (they're now 2 &6 ). They didn't know until they were coming out, though. It's very common.

Not necessarily. But only your doctor and the ultrasound results wil determine that. Its called an umbillical cord, by the way, not a navel string.

Not all the time...only if the baby is showing distress. My son had the cord around his neck, and I delivered vaginally...they just cut it off as soon as his head came out.

Not necesarily, but I would rather be safe than sorry. If that cord gets too tight during the delivery, then the baby can be either still born or seriously brain damaged. Best of luck to you.

No, babies are often born with the cord around their neck. My youngest daugther the cord was wrapped around twice. It nearly choked her and she had to be resustiated but she made it.
