why can't i rerecord on my cd-rw?

i bought a pack thinking i could erase and rerecord on them (cd-rw's). i cant erase my songs on it to put new songs on. how do i erase the information already on the cd?

You cannot "erase" things off of CD-RW's in the way you would off of say a floppy disk or USB drive. Depending on the software, you simply overwrite the files with new files in the same fashion you created the original CD.

Also make sure you have a CD-RW drive and not just a CD-W drive.
