Yep - we baby boomer (born between 1946 and 1964) are the most populous age group in America. We are indeed gray haired and are living longer than we should. As a result, you kids are going to have to pay for our social security leaving nothing for future generations. As an old-timer, I thank you!

It has to do with the fact that people are living longer than ever before, so there's a much larger population of older people in America. The government has to figure out what to do about Social Security, Medicare, and other things.
It's actually spelled "gray" and searching for your topic spelled that way came up with a bunch of hits.

It refers to the fact that the percentage of Americans that are over the age of 50 is increasing drastically and there by the age of the average American is increasing.
There are fewer and fewer children being born in the USA each year as couples decide to have one or no children, unlike the 2.4 child per couple average for the Nuclear family during the Cold War. As the percentage of Americans in the retirement range increases it draws more resources and reduces the potential tax income to cover the retirement for all.

Baby boomers (majority of population) are getting old and grey. Just type it into google and you should find a lot of information. You can look at answers.com or wikipedia.com and find some info too.

The baby boomer generation is getting older. Making more old people percentage wise. Also longer life spans is another reason there are more older people.
