rumor of the day today
*For those who have been inundated with e-mails about the supposed death of comedian Sinbad from a heart attack, just hit delete on those correspondences, as the news is 100 percent not true.
EUR's Lee Bailey has spoken with the comic’s brother and manager, Mark Adkins, who confirms that the former star of "A Different World" is alive and well (Listen to phone conversation below).
“That was a vicious rumor, I don’t know where it came from, but it started last weekend,” Mark, the head of a promotions company in Los Angeles, told Bailey on the phone Thursday afternoon. “It just started circulating around the country, and today I got more calls than any.”
“On Saturday I started getting a lot of comedians calling me saying that they heard Sinbad had passed away,” Mark continued. “Then it had died down for a couple of days and we thought it was just a little local rumor, but then it went across the country. I got calls from Detroit and New York, radio stations calling. I guess there’s some sort of obituary or something on the e-mail blast that made it seem real.”
Sinbad himself, born David Adkins, is scheduled to speak with Lee Bailey later today. We’ll keep you posted.

Sinbad is NOT dead, he just called in this morning on the Steve Harvey Morning Show (106.3 FM, Chicago, IL) and confirmed that it was a rumor that was started on the internet a few days ago!
I'm not sure who or where the rumor was started but it was in bad taste if it was meant to be a joke. Wikkipedia is not always a reliable source!

No. This is a vicious rumor/hoax. Someone altered information on the Wikepedia Website to make it appear as though he died. There is no reliable source or report that he is dead on any of the internet news websites such as CNN, MSNBC, etc.
I found the real, unaltered, unedited Wikepedia Website and it doesn't have him mentioned as deceased:
