Yahoo! answers is a public forum, an electronic soapbox if you will. That is why people give answers based on their own experiences and opinions.

When you ask a question on a public forum such as Yahoo you must expect all kinds of answers but there are all kinds of people in the world and many fanatics and mentally disturbed people. They also read and reply so just take into account which makes most sense to you and good luck. Cherie

I respect all religions and non religions, You can be a born again christian, a "Bible Thumper" as someone above called it, Islam, Jewish, atheist, agnostic (like me), druid, greek orthodox, I don't care. To each his own.
Every religion has SOME fanatics that think they're the only ones going to heaven and everyone else is going to hell.
This is why they preach their beliefs whenever they can, they genuinely care about all of us "others" and want us to go to heaven too. It's a noble gesture.
The problem is some of those fanatics don't respect the fact that we "others" are not interested and they take too long to let us off the hook.
Like telemarketers, and how they essentially encourage us to be rude and hang up.
No I don't respect any form of telemarketing. But that's a whole different issue.

In your mind, you seem to think that most religious people who frequent this spot are fools and overly judgmental.
And, you seem to espouse the theory that only drug addicts can understand drug addiction.
Those are generalizations which you seem to accept without question.
I tend to believe that there are religious people in this forum who have a deep faith in God and believe to their core that they need to spread the Word. I accept their point of view just as much as the atheist view.
Neither concept can be proved, so I will continue to listen to both sides. I know that I will glean knowledge from both.
As for addiction, we all are addicted to something to some level of dependency. Those general feelings can be translated to any addiction and be apropos to it.
I choose to keep an open mind and try to learn from all sources.
You seem to want to take a narrower view.
So be it.

Just because someone appears to be judgemental or religious,it does not automatically make them a fool. Are you not being judgemental yourself when you label others that way? You don't need to have personal; experience of a topic in order to have an opinion. Some people are very knowledgeable in certain areas due to their work or area of study and are only trying to share what they know. You don't have to accept what they share, but accept that they have the right to say it.

I'm in total agreement with you on this one. I'm a very spiritual person and I don't bring it up unless its part of the question. People like that are a huge turn off for me. Many times these comments turn mean and angry when someone is just looking for a little help. Its a public forum, so you get a sampling of the public attitude....scary.

actual it rather is possibly in view which you do no longer be conscious non judgemental solutions as plenty. those that stick on your reminiscence are those which you detect thrilling or stressful. in view which you're needless to say aggravated via people being judgemental, you have a tendency to be conscious those solutions extra usually. This finally leads to an illusory correlation blunders in which you detect there as being extra judgemental solutions than there actual are. And no count number if it is not as much as us to be the moral police of existence, whose accountability is it?

it has a high concentration of judgemental self-righteous fools in general. (i've noticed quite a high number of mysogynists as well as the 'judgemental' religious fools)
[i'm assuming you don't mean that all religious people are like that]

I think people who never learned anything, other then being educated by religious fanatics, can't think about anything other then what they learn over and over again.
