What does this incident say about the consistency of Subway's tuna, and conversely, about the strength of my tooth?

It says you should see your dentist. My father in law chipped a tooth eating lazagna the other day. It's says NOTHING about the quality of Subway's food, more about your teeth. Go see your dentist asap.

Why do some people give you such mean answers to a question like this?? They must have a lot of built up anger... How dare you ask a question about chipping your tooth! ha...anyway, it happens, you probably chomped down too quickly or moved your mouth in an awkward position that caused you to chip a tooth. Don't worry, it happens. I haven't completely chipped a tooth before but I've bitten something the wrong way before and heard my teeth scratch together somehow, even though my teeth are straight. See a dentist :)
sorry about your tooth!!

I think we need more information, like what you chipped your tooth on. You have nothing to be ashamed about, but you should be angry if you chipped it on something that didn't belong in your sub. Your tooth may have been defective to begin with, and the slightest stress could have put it over the edge. If you didn't chip it at Subway, maybe it would have happened the next day, next week, etc.

According to the book, Calorie Fat & Carbohydrate Counter, the meatballs alone on a 6" is 300 calories and a 6" wheat is 200 calories. So, 500+ (not sure what the meatball sauce would bring the total count to. And according to this nifty book I mentioned above, it is NOT one of the healthiest subs you can get there. Another example: Gary D, listed what he ate: 12" Meatball w/ cheese on wheat. That sandwich alone was: 1720 calories. Yikes! That is OVER the average calorie intake a normal sized healthy person should eat during the whole day.

Ashamed of what??? People chip there teeth all the time. Maybe angry or in pain yeah. But I wouldnt blame subway unless they put a rock or something in your sub. I agree with the others, just go see Dr. Sparkles and let him fix little toothy up.

I wasn't going to answer this question because everyone was contributing to your dilemma, until I saw the guy write and tell you to eat more protein to build your teeth up. It is actually eat more calcium for bones and teeth. Maybe what you broke it on was a bone from the tuna and you were actually doing the right thing and ingesting calcium for your teeth but it was in a rock form! It is true so many hostile responses to your problem! Maybe they are all just hungry and irritable....

If something in that tuna caused you to chip your tooth you should be angry, its unlikely that you would of done this for any other reason. You should of contacted a manager, possibbly sued.

I wouldn't be either ashamed or angry. What I would do is see your dentist. You may have some kind of enamel deficiency that is making your teeth weak in some way.

You obviously need to ingest more protein than you have been. Protein builds strong muscles and strong muscles build strong teeth. It's science. So I would recommend a more rigorous bulking routine.
