what kind of man is it that tried to get away with giving the senior Citizens 75pence a week pension rise. That is not the meterial of a good PM.It just shows how much the Labour MPs know .To think that Passing that over to Brown will please the public .It will be there biggest Bloomer in Blair's time apart from the middle East .The Tories must be rubbing their hands at this. They know they will be in power next Election with the biggest Land slide ever

There are a number miliband has already been mentioned, Beckett also although not really credible she tried to run in 94 after John Smith passed away but came 5th. there are a number of others who come to mind Alan Johnson current secretary of state for education and skills, then there is also others such as Hutton current penions minister and Blears both rumoured to be going for the deputy PM'sjob, it could be expected that there could also be strong influnce from figures such as, David Blunkett, John Reid and even Ed Balls these are jus throwing names up in the air there would be much politics within the Labour party and as with Cameron it is likely that if it isn't the antisipated frint runner (Brown) then it would be an unknown such as possibly the likes of Johnson who have been prominant within the party but who have not made many waves outside of it in the wider press.

Alan Milburn - he's the only one who is remotely presentable and apparently was the only decent Health Secretary Labour have had.

To answer the question: David Milliband - because he is a credible candidate, and I don't know of any other serious contenders whose names have even been considered for the frame, let alone put in it.
Junglekat75: I'm reading this on uk.answers.yahoo - perhaps you are getting a little confused.

When it is put like that it becomes quite scary. Margaret Beckett (as compensation for the mirror's unkindness) or bring back Blunkett or , God help us, Prescott. Time for tea to banish these thoughts.
