Ever watchful for predators, giraffes sleep only about a half-hour a day, and this time is usually broken up into about six, five-minute naps.

It can sleep more than 5 minutes. It depends how safe they fell, from predators. In a safe environ, after having sufficient food, they take a good nap. In Masai Mara sanctuary, myself have witnessed, a giraffe having sound sleep for more than 1 hour.
