Well, we have a ministry that has responsibility for that specific area....Ministry of Transport and Works. For public transport the government has hired a bus company from Belgium, which provides public transport buses that run throughout the corporate area only, Kingston, St Andrew and St Catherine. The fare is currently J$50
There are also taxi licenses available....however there are many illegal buses and taxis running on the streets of Kingston, this is the biggest problem for the ministry: trying to tackle these taxi drivers and trying to encourage passengers not to take these illegal taxis because of the risks involved. The government loses a high percentage of potential earnings to these illegal drivers.

In the recent times our government has built (and is currently building different phases) of the Highway 2000, Jamaica's first toll road, which is without doubt the best innovation to the Jamaican Transport system from the introduction of cars.... It has alleviated traffic flow in many once congested motor ways and it has lessened travel time for everyone.
