we are planning a budget trip to Nassau, and we saw the price of Towne Hotel sounds pretty reasonable. its address is 40 George Street. Anyone who stayed there before? and how's the location of the hotel? close to downtown and the beach?
Thanks so much.

This hotel is definately a LOW BUDGET HOTEL. It is just a couple minutes from downtown and the shops and straw market. There is a small dumpy beach within walking distance next to the British Colonial. The rooms are ok ... you may even get a couple cockroaches in your bathroom all for the same price. But it's location is good for shopping and going out to eat......have fun

I never stayed at this hotel but I do have some info on it. It's located downtown, close to the cruise port and restaurants. It has 46 rooms and a pool. The room rate includes breakfast. If you book on their website , you get an internet discount.
This is a budget hotel and if you keep this in mind you will be fine. It's rated 16 out of 50 hotels on

while you're coming to sightsee - stay at Atlantis. it rather is on Paradise Island that's around the bridge from Nassau. while you're holiday is greater corporation and enjoyment, stay on the British Colonial Hilton - its an extremely short walk to downtown Nassau and the U.S. embassy. the two are wonderful residences, purely very diverse area.

If your looking for budget try Comfort Suites, they also give you discount passes to Atlantis, it's on Paradise Island, it has a kids camp if you have any children and has about 230 rooms so yu won't feel like your in a hole.

Check out www.tripadvisor.com click on rants and raves - you can read reviews by real people - there is a search function to find the hotel you are interested in. I have found it really useful.
