How am I suppose ti write about Elvis Presley being a great American leader. I wasn't sure if he was one. I have to write an essay/speech on how he is a great American leader. So far I THINK that he is a leader in music. The information I have read so far doesn't seem to help. I've read ALL the information in encyclopedias and wikipedia.com. My brain hurts from reading and I can't seem to think. I know that he is the "King of Rock 'n' Roll". I'm just not sure what else to write about him. My speech needs to be at least three minutes long and so far I am one-third of the way there. Will you please help me?

Well I read that Elvis barely had sex. Even though he was a sex symbol he was a gentleman. ALMOST ALL the women he went out with NEVER saw him naked...

I wouldn't say he was a great leader. But if you have to do a report on him leading in music, perhaps say how he crossed racial and generation lines, crossed over from rock to gospel and than country. Just some suggestions. I don't care for him, but it he sounds cool now that I typed this!

Elvis influenced American culture in a big way. Look at the music that was popular in the early 1950s. It was very different until Elvis came along, and the music world hasn't been the same since. Here is something about a book you might want to look at:

Pick a different topic, because as far as I know Elvis was not a great American leader.

Elvis led American music in a new direction that greatly impacted society. You could discuss how that possibly changed the way music influenced behavior (especially among teens/young adults). That could be your focus.

Can you write the other side of the issue, the one you are seeing? Argue that he is NOT a great American leader, just be sure to support your arguments with facts.
