I used this question as an example to answer a question, but I would like to know how you all feel.
Is the role of government to
A. Provide for its own when they can not provide for themselves?
or
B. Create the same oppertunities to exist for everyone, and allow for personal responsiblity?

The role of the president is to protect the citizens of
this Nation from outside militqry attacks on our citizens.
The role of government is the executive power authorized
to administer the laws of the land. Neither A nor B above
is the correct role of government. Everyone should be
responsible for their own selves, not Big Daddy. We do
have laws enacted however to provide help for the less
fortunate, the poor, and minorities.

The place of the US government is to offer the desires of the simple welfare. who is going to guard clientele from fraud? who is going to guard sufferers from jacked up preniums by using the coverage companies grasping to make a income? each and every little thing in existence desires regulations and the quicker human beings understand that, the greater useful recognize-how that they'd have that the government could be used as a gadget for the universal public's desires

The role of the US government is to determine policy for the entire country as a whole. In reality, all they should do is manage tax collection, intelligence gathering, the military, and natural disaster assistance. The federal government should be limited to those tasks only (it would achieve the best democratic system).

The role of the United States government is to act as the instrument of the Will of the People, who are the Sovereign of the United States.
In other words, if the People want the government to do something...then that is its role.

I say that because our government is screwed up
I love america but dammit our government needs to get it's head out of it's ***
We need to stop worrying about other countries and fix our own problems first. We have too many problems here as it is without having to worry about other parts of the world
I can see why other countries would hate us, and I don't blame them

C. US government should be protecting us, & our borders (which also means people come here legally). That should be their main responsibilities and that would mean less tax money needed.
