For me blue is the color of action and power. Red, I am disliking more and more every day due to the association with stoplights.

Blue is a soothing color and red is an exciting color. I don't think it would have mattered which pill Keanu Reeves took in the Matrix, they both would have had the same effect in my mind.

Blue is subconsciously associated with cold, red with heat. That about does it.
