It is caused by being misinformed by people that have a personal agenda. Evangelist and politicians come to mind.

If your info is correct, (I don't see a source), it is the first time I have ever seen you post anything that is factually based in YA. It's also the first time you ever said anything less than disparaging about Red Staters. You think the two go hand-in-hand? :)
I have no theory as to why math and English vs. history. I have usually heard the mathematical mind struggles with the inexact science of English. I happen to excel in Math and History.
As far as "developmental skills", a little clarification is needed. I work with people who have developmental disabilities, which can mean a host of things. Are you admitting that Blue Staters are developmentally delayed? (again :))

only the different day i became examining a e book noted as "the colour code." i understand...i'm in many cases against examining books. they're basically a waste of time inspite of the incontrovertible fact that it is Bikini season and that i presumed it could be sensible to stay wakeful as much as now with the latest style. I even offered the latest version of the trend magazine! Any way, the e book had somewhat quiz interior the commencing up which because it grew to become out i became introduced to be a purple character=ability hungry. So i assume I stay with the purple. My siZters say it fits my complexion.

It is just how the averages fall. The red states might put more emphasis on science and math where the blue states put more emphasis on literature and history.
Georgia never looks good against the nation, not everyone out of that state is bad.
Just our Representative in the state congress who thinks the sun revolves around the earth.

If we have red and blue, then we better include purple, because that's where most of us are. The winner-takes-all system leaves us with a false and oversimplified understanding of political leanings. Plus or minus 5 percent is a huge margine. 1 in 20 voters, let's just consider that...

The blue states tend to be in favor of socialism.....I guess those chapters are missing in the blue state history books...
I'd like to see a link to the raw data to these stats. Are we talking U.S. history or world history? Political history, cultural history, military history, economic history....?
Considering the "blue" states were really carried by a few metropolitan areas, were the red counties within those states counted as "blue" or "red"? What about the blue counties in red states?

Edit to Gary below: Nah. Blue means "Yankee" to us in the South. They're still blue. I'll take Red over Blue any day. How about we don the Gray again?

Since you are so concerned with red stated blue states, have you ever looked at an actual map? Practically the entire thing is red. If it weren't for the big cities, there would be even more red states.

That is interesting, at least they're producing the bulk of the nation's engineers with their math abilities-- all this while blue states are teaching art, diversity, light and love.
Interestingly enough, there is a guy on Y!A who claims to have been a retired educator and he didn't even know that Clinton fired all 93 US ATTORNEYS upon taking office.....and this was a grown man in charge of teaching children...no wonder they don't learn anything anymore.

Many "red states" have high black and/or hispanic populations, so it's quite possible that every "blue stater" making this kind of comment is perpetuating bigoted stereotypes, knowingly or not.
