best to count fat. i have for nearly a year and i have lost 19 pounds and it stays off. i go the gym twice a week too. you need to do both. when i gone on holiday i tend to put weight on but soon lose it. there are lots of low fat meals about and books and info on the net. hope this helps. good luck. 70 grams of fat for a woman a day.

Personally i think eating less fat is better for you because fat has a lot of calories, but if you burn more calories than you take in then you can eat pretty much anything and keep the weight off anyway

Fats are more what you should look at more. Not particularly calories. Because if you look on the back where it says fat content. You shall see "Saturated Fat" If this is high. Then avoid these type of foods. They are not at all good. Saturated fat is what causes you to put on weight not the calories

You need to watch both fat and calories but really, they are related so if you are eating to many calories, you are eating too much fat too. On a 2000 cal a day diet you should eat about 65g of fat but stay away from saturated fats. Look at the nutrition facts on all the things you eat and see how much sugar, fat and calories you are getting per serving.
