Hi. I recently got two great job offers. One is working at Bellsouth as a inside sales representative. The job pays between 25,000 to 31,000 base salary plus commission. I will of course have to meet a sales/service quota monthly. I will recieve free benefits after working 6 month there plus 1 week vacation then at the year mark I will get 2 weeks paid vacation. Holidays I may have to work but I will get double time and a half. Oh yeah, I have to work a split shift for 3+ months, which is when you come 4 hours, leave and come back to close for the day. Schedule is based on performance and seniority.
The next job is working for Cigna Government Services as a Claims approver. No call center like atmosphere, i won't have to reach a sales quota. Benefits start immediately day of hire(the company pays half of the benefits). We are off 8 major holidays plus you get 4 extra floating holidays. Hours are M-F between 7 to 530 p.m.(sorry so length but i am trying to give all the details:)

The job has offered me 25, 500 to start off which does not include the possibility overtime. I realize these are both great companies. i just need some direction on which one I should choose. The sales quota is going to get stressful yet my earning potential could be much greater yet the claims approver position could offer better job security considering there isn't any quotas to be met. Thanks for your help!

Claims will be easier. I heard a nasty rumor that if you don't finish the stack of claims by the end of the week, that you just dump them and say that you never recieved the claim, and make them re-bill you.

Jobs in sales have endless possibilities, if you are good at it. There is a lot of money to be made in sales, but it is not for everyone. I think you should look to your self and decide if you have what it takes to make it in sales. I personally could never do it, because of the stress. Claims could be boring, and you may regret it when you are sitting at a desk all day.
