Have you noticed how iritable and defensive all the smokers get when you call them out for being shallow, stupid, and uncaring?

Yes I've noticed how irritable and defensive all the smokers get when you call them out for being shallow, stupid, and uncaring. They get this way because they're offended and probably really frustrated, dissapointed, and mad at themselves. Don't blame them too much. :)

Yes.. all smoker's already know it's stupid. It is only uncaring to other's if they smoke around someone else. I don't think that makes them shallow. When I smoke I always did it outside away from my kids and it is illegal to smoke in any establishment in my town. So I know I was only hurting myself.

it's too TRUE !
they are very defensive!
and very protective of their 'right' to foul up everybody else's breathing air!
they truly have no clue (or else don't give a damn) how their smoke affects others. I don't care what anybody else does in their own home or car, but when it comes to the air that comes into MY lungs, it needs to be smoke-free or I (truthfully) suffer asthma attacks!
unfortunately, smoke is not really very containable. it tends to blow around and disperse a lot. just because you are 10 feet away from me, doesn't mean the smoke is not entering my airways.
smoking sections in restaurants are a joke.
smoke does not recognize signs.
