I am guessing data entry would be good but there doesn't seem to be much demand for it. Is there anything else that is in demand?

It depends if you are a typist on a computer or a typewriter (although the latter can be transferrable skill).

I would look for a job in admin or office work. If you have a good key speed (roughly 75-85 wpm) you may be able to get a job taking minutes at conferences. Alternatively you could work at data entry on a shorter term basis, sign up with an agency and they will be able to place you, unfortunately a lot of these types of jobs are short term or contract. If you get a job as an admin or a more general role then you will utilise your typing skills but also learn a wider skill base with which to apply for other jobs.

Check out working for TTC. They work as the go between for deaf people placing calls and the hearing people they are calling. The non-hearing person will type what they want into a computer. You will see it and read it to the hearing person. Then type the response back to the non-hearing person.

They need people who can type at least 60 wpm. Sounds like the perfect match.
