One cannot simultaneously prepare for war and create peace.

Waging a war in the name of peace is like buying a hooker for sex in the name of virginity.

Only if they wear orange jumpsuits. I think if you ask Nick Burgs family they might know better. Are you waiting for an Anti-War protest to show your face?

Wha??!! I'm a liberal and I am conused. I am the only American where I work and am staunchly protective of a country that I believe all its citizens owe a tremendous debt to.

What makes one anti-peace? The mistake many people make is they apply morality to international relations. The morality is the ribbon on the package and the wrapping paper on policy. There is a belief that the schism in conservatism and neo-cons is the absence of realism in the latter. The act is we exist in a 4 dimensional world (including time) and it is likely that American preeminance will end in the next 2 decades, due to rising powers and domestic liabilities. It is my opinion that the current administration recognized this and decided to leverage America's current position to create a world more favorable to us when our inevitable decline occurs.
This hasn't worked, but I believe it is not necessarily an idealistic endeavor as has been commonly posited. To me, it was the equivalent of betting high on a marginal hand.
I for one am fascinated by how history will recall today's situation.

Response:
anti-peace does not equal pro-war. I recommend a course in Logic.
