Maybe he was being insensitive, but if you haven't heard, Cook County Board President Todd Stroger(whose daddy the hospital you are being treated at is named after) decided to cut a large part of the budget for all state-run health care facilities in Chicago, so maybe the doctor was told that he needs to find the patients who required the treatments the most, and for the rest, see if some sort of payment can be made. It may be the staff is having to choose who to offer this service to, and yes that is wrong, but that is what happens when you allow idiots to run things. I would suggest that you contact the City's department of Human Services, and ask where you can file a compliant in this matter, but don't hold your breath. Welcome to health care in the Cook County health care system.

Who told you it needs to come out? How did you pay for the doctor and tests to make that assessment? If it's an emergency, any hospital has to provide the necessary care to mitigate the issue. You might see about being an extra on Grey's Anatomy, ER, or Scrubs. Maybe they can work you in.
