I recently got charged with possesion of marijuana and paraphrenalia. I actually only had 2 bowls, no weed, but the cops charged the resin in my bowl as weed possesion. This doesn't seem fair, for if my bowls were clean, then it would just be glass, but i've heard that somehow, cops can do that if they want. I don't have enough money for an attourney. My court date is in perhaps, 4 or 5 days. I'm really stressed out about it. what should i do in court?

Call legal aid or the public defender asap. You need representation before you go into court and confess. If you do not have one by court date ask the judge to give you time to get one.

Dress as decent as you can and maintain a good all round appearance though out the trial.
Remain calm and considerate and above all Tell the Truth and when you do look the Judge straight in his eyes so that he/she knows you are being truthful.
Maybe they will give you the benefit of the doubt and not drop the Axe on you as hard as they are entitled to do!

Well for one you should stop making excuses - I suppose the residue in the bowl jumped in there from outerspace?
If you cannot afford an attorney one should be provided for you - contact the court and ask about this.

first of all, you are going to have to go and plead guilt or not guilty, if you plead guilty then they'll either fine you or put you on probation. if you plead not guilty, then a trial date will be set. if you don't have money for an attorney you can ask for a public defender.

Assert your right to an attorney.
If you do that, and establish that you can't afford one, and they refuse to give you one, be happy. They will not sentence you to jail without an attorney if you request one.

basically without the lawyer you are screwed. you will have to stand there and take what they give pretty much. with the lawyer I'm sure the possession charge would be thrown, and all you would have is paraphrenalia.
ask for a continuance.

Dont panic, you are not going to jail, supervised probation is the likely. Dont smoke while your on probation, if you do, pack your toothbrush for jail. Good Luck!

Call the DA who is prosecuting the case and ask him what to expect and what he is recommending.
