Why do they spend so much time bashing each other instead doing something productive, such as

Why is arguing with a Liberal the same as arguing with a Pet Rock?

WHY IS ARGUlNG WITH A NEOCON THE SAME AS ARGUING WITH A TAPE RECORDING OF RUSH LIMBUAGH?

I'm 24 I'm so dissapointed how immature this is.

i honestly don't think enough americans care where this country is headed. Why don't we just become the S.A.? i fail to see the unity

I gave examples of the bashing not productivity. I know.

Can't We be unfied without our freedom being threatend. Is it as Simple as just agreeing to disagree. I don't think so. Yeah, I've noticed the way our country behaves when it is threatened, or attacked. I see the unity in that, and our resolve for freedom, i also see the unity in that. But is it enough? what about the rest of our days?

You totally have a point though at times I can be easily baited to answer a jerky question that isn't really information exchange or even a worthy debate, it is pointless and kind of depressing and not satifiying at all...but you get sucked in I guess.
I see it this way the U.S is experiening the deepest ideological divide I have witness in my time (I am a over a decade older than you). We can either have debates to help understand each other and I have tried to do that by posting questions like "what is your one issue that strays from your party's platform"...etc which showed me that removing the label for a minute makes us all human. We can try to understand one another or we can continue to just talk at each other.
But I am in total agreement with you that our disunity will be our demise if we don't figure out a way to all be citizens of a this potentially amazing democracy called the U.S.

It's sad to say, but the only time there is unity in our country is when a disaster happens - 9/11 for example. You could not go anywhere without seeing an American flag or support our troops sign. Now since the vengeance has worn off & liberal based media has been reporting about the war - the unity is gone we are again divided. But we do have freedom of speech & the right to express our opinion; I just think that a certain aspect has gone - like respect.

Apparently you do not see jokes very well. Look, we will not agree on everything, but we are the United States of America, unified by fighting for freedom from the first days of our country's beginings. The unity is there, look for it.

i might initiate with extra regulations for great employer. great companies should not be allowed to gobble up our u . s . a .'s client base at the same time as small employer suffers. agencies like Wal-Mart are shutting down mom and dad shops all over the country. as quickly as we are residing in a society this is scared, scared via what they are being fed on the community information, apprehensive of strangers using fact they think of they are all criminals. This habit is efficient to Congloms using fact the client might particularly visit one shop and get each little thing particularly than walk to the industry, shop at many diverse shops and have interaction with extra human beings.

its very sad, but there will always be different opinions on different issues. not everyone can get along, even if u made them and forced them on agreeing!!
its just like, y r there democrats and republicans??
why r there conservative and liberals?
why r there diff. views about war in Iraq??
its just human nature to argue.
No two people infact can agree in the same thing.
there are too many choices and too much to learn about,
just like u won't just forget about ur ideas, to agree with someone else u think is wrong, that same person won't agree on ur idea, as he thinks ur wrong!
the problem is, everyone thinks he's right and that he's doing the right thing, and would never compromise to agree with someone else.
honestly, its just as sad, becoz God gave us brains to use, not to think only about the word I, or how does this affect me, or is it good to ME?
they should learn on relating with everyone, and if not totally agreeing but slightly agreeing or compromising both sides to reach an equal and fair solution.
What do u say?

It started when Clinton was excused by the senate for his impeachment. They the democratic party made a direct statement there are laws but they do not apply to us. I personally took offense to that and adopted their logical mantra and began bashing on the spot and said if the President can commit Perjury there is no law.

Meanwhile the law is levied heavily on me so it is my way of protecting a country that lets a guy off for Murder who did it and a President who humiliated our country was honored as a hero.

Also the talk of 3,000 dead soldiers was Vietnam ess and same with all the traitor talk that came from their party. They are not willing to move one inch politically even when they are out of power they filibustered appointees who would have been voted in buy the vote. They did the must undermining things to minorities Bush appointed many and they filibustered them also.

So they are for minorities only when they are a uncle Tom Minority.

I could go on but if you haven't seen this already you have a lot of catching up to do.

Because too many people want to be right, instead of effecting change.
And people do have different beliefs that need to be reconciled before progress is made.
Is it the role of the government to provide for and take care of its people?
Or are all people who are afforded the same opportunities responsible for their own well being?

Simple. Liberals feel that America is the problem. Conservatives feel that America is the solution. There is a fundamental difference between the two sides as to the role of the government in the solution to the problems of our country.

Take unemployment. Conservative believe that the private sector is the best solution to unemployment. So a conservative is going to recommend a lowering of taxes to increase investment in the private sector to create jobs. Bush lowered taxes and brought us out of a deep recession.

Liberals feel that government spending is the key to reviving a slow economy.

There is very little common ground between these two different ideologies.

I'm not a tape recording of Rush Limbaugh.

I might be a tape recording of the Investors' Business Daily though.

But, what more could you possibly need???

I agree. That is why I am voting for Obama, as he is the only person I have heard talk about ending partisan politics. I feel like we will never find solutions to the problems we face without working together.
