Why are Actors, Comedians, and Musicians more likely to commit suicide that other people?

Fab question and although I do not know for sure, I would guess that many of the best actors / comedians are in fact manic depressives - the manic part being that which gives them the creativity they need.

The depressive side of course taking them to the equal depth of depression that the manic side took them to elation.

LOADS of manic depressives in the entertainment industry.

Perhaps also the fact that the work makes it hard to maintain a good relationship with frioends / partners - so many of these people live alone much of the time - and the feeling after coming off stage and going back to an empoty dressing room are not always the nicest ones - escpecially if the next stop is an empty hotel room.

Dentist and Dcotors I think you will find are also high on the list of people who opt for suicide - different reasons perhaps for them - including easy access to materials to help do the job painlessly and quickly.

for some musicians i'd say its cos they start too early or the pressure is just so much on them that the only opt out they can find is suicide. actors n commedians maybe peer pressure and maybe too mych work leading to slleping pills and drug abuse. then suicide.

It is because that a lot of them are bi-polar, that means that they are manic depressives. They have massive highs while they are working followed by depression, because of reviews and stuff. I know, I have this illness too!

Most times, it's because they are also on some form of drugs. The drugs take over and their emotions are heightened. When they get sad or mad, suicide is the easiest solution for them.

becasue they dont have normal lives, all the poperatsies following them and such things, all the stress, they dont have any privacy. what would u do if many people were video taping u every second, every move u make..
