Legal? that would just be the right thing to do. It would almost be a moral imperative.

I think that flag burining is never OK but I also understand that it's protected by the Constitution, so I'd have no problem with what you suggest. Heck, he could just wrap it around his head and I'd be OK. It's easier to clean up that way.
And, by the way, You can tell Truth Seeker he's wrong. I saw American Flags being burned on several occasions during the 1970s and I was one of the guys who was tasked with keeping other people from doing extreme bodily harm to the idiots doing the burning. Sometimes I wish I hadn't been so good at it when I see what's resulted from that type of abherrent behavior.

Flag burning is offensive to a lot of people, those that get offended by the desecration and disrespect for the flag want it to be illegal. Most don't know what the US Flag Code is. Most that cry about people burning the flag, they themselves disrespect the flag everyday according to the US Flag Code, and if you make one illegal you have to make them all illegal. This in turn will jail the same people that cried about making Flag Burning illegal.

I see flag-burning as a property issue. If you buy a flag, you can do what you want with it. Government doesn't have the right to tell you what you can and can't do with your own property. Burning the American flag angers me, but if someone wants to do it protest, it's their right. Though I think it's the bigges load of crap when people say they burn the american flag because they love this country. Yeah right, if they love this country, then why destroy a symbol of what gives you right to do that. Burn a flag if you want, but don't lie about why you're doing it.

I do not condone the burning of our flag, however it is a freedom of expression act and thus, protected by the Constitution.
I would vote in favor of a law requiring that one wrap themselves in it before setting it aflame to show their true commitment to their cause. Oh yes and they would have to show proof of medical insurance too as I don't want the taxpayers to be saddled with the cost of a lengthy stay in a burn center. Maybe they would have to do that when they applied for the permit and paid the city fee.
Then if they fail to follow the guidelines we could throw the book at them for their failing to follow the law and levy a HUGE fine, that would not have anything to do with the actual freedom of expression.

Since it is Dictator Dumbya and the Dumbyabots who like to wrap themselves in the flag, then the act would be more than a symbolic protest. But as that would also be violent, I would abstain. Down with Dictator Dumbya!!!

Sorry but no, they need to douse themselves in gas then light themselves on fire. Flag burning, when done in protest, is desecrating it. However, burning it done by veterans, and when the flag is to worn and along those lines, is it only okay for it to be burned.

I'll have to ponder this greatly and get back to you. A despicable act (flag burning), but the cleansing of a nation. Hmm, I just am not sure.

Flag burning is a "wedge issue" that Republicans use to garner votes. My bet is that not a one of you has ever witnessed in person the burning of a U.S. flag. It is a non-issue.
would you rather be like Iran and Cuba and ban it?????

I think it should be legalized but have a two liberal rule. You must have minimum of two liberals under the flag prior to setting it on fire and must use a minimum of 2 gallons of combustible fuel of your choice.
