They might not do a blood test at all. I have 3 kids and never got a blood test . Your dr can get everyhing he needs from a physical, ultrasound or urine test.

If they do a blood test, you can expect to get the results within 24-48 hours. If it is not ordered STAT, and it wouldn't be just for a routine test, then you will have to wait.

usually they do a urine test.. and they get the results in a few mintues and tell you right away. However some doctors don' tdo the test in the office and send you for a urine in the lab.. then they don't tell you for a few days. But in my town they do the test right in the office

You pee in a cup, and the results are instantaneous. They may also conduct a pap smear while you're there, or they may make you reschedule that for the next time. Expect to do a lot of research and reading if you're pregnant. There are all kinds of things you'll need to know.
