I am personally anti-abortion but here is the best argument I have for not forcing my PERSONAL agenda on others.
The difference is that abortion is a personal decision which effects nothing outside of a womans body. A fetus begins as a clump of cells feeding off of the host. So does cancer. Until that clump of cells has the capacity to live without the host (usually 4 1/2 months), it is a medical decision.
The other examples you give (rape, murder, steal, speed, drive drunk) all effect other living, viable human beings.
You can choose not to wear your seatbelt. Just drive only in states where the insurance lobby hasn't forced the legislature to violate your right to do as you choose with your person (like mine).

EVERY law limits personal freedom to achieve some other goal.
It's the individual goals which are the question!
PS I'm sympathetic to your general point, but I remember what a professor once said - when there is enough disagreement about a particular law, it is hard to enforce. Laws against murder, rape, etc. all have broader public support. Although through educating the public, we can make sure more people see abortion the same way. It worked to get rid of slavery; it can work here.

I don't like many of the reasonings that Pro-Choice people give, such as saying a fetus is like a cancerous tumor or malignant cyst. If that were the case then any woman would abort simply because who would want anything malignant in their system. I like the idea of a womans right to chose over her body, but when anothers body and life is involved such as a fetus, then really it is not just about the womans body anymore. Good point on since sex is going to happen then abortion should be legal and comparing it to the other no-nos. There is no difference because rape or murder affect others body, just like abortion affects the fetuses body(developing). The problem here is that we are a Democratic Republic and everyones opinions and wants try to be met, that in turn makes peoples beliefs clash in an endless battle. Why not compromise, and make changes.

you and everyone out there should be for the death penalty
so your telling me that even the most dangerous criminals should not die, in much the same fashion that their victims might have died
I can't see your reasoning on that
You know as for abortion I am pro life but unfortunately in our declining society people are going to continue to have sex like rats without thinking about the effects. Therefore unfortunate as it may sound, abortion would be the better choice. At least for the good of the society
I really hate saying that, but as the old saying goes you can't satisfy everyone

i am going to bypass off for a 2d right here real speedy! Rape ought to no longer be seen an exception at the same time as it includes determining abortion is nice. If ur going to assert that abortion is homicide and is going adverse to booking the right to stay, take this idea into interest. Even tho theory replaced into compelled onto the mummy does no longer recommend that that's that youngster's fault, the right to stay also needs to receive to that child. it may nevertheless be loved by ability of yet another relatives! What i'm retaining is until eventually that's medically no longer plausible for the mummy to carry a baby, in case your going to be adverse to abortion, be adverse to it in all elements. easily, retaining rape is an exception makes you an hypocrite! Now for your delemia, I easily swing on the area of professional decision. you're 21 , a woman, and an American. which elements u each correct to pick on in spite of you want to do with this infant. yet i visit point u to take your bf's emotions to heart. on the accurate of the day that's ur body, in spite of the undeniable fact that it is also his flesh and blood turning out to be interior you. If u were 15 i'd say get the abortion, yet u are an grownup, which makes it not straightforward. some months in the past I also discovered that i replaced into pregnant, and some hours after that i replaced into rushed into emergency surgical operation to have the being pregnant bumped off, alongside with my correct tube, it replaced into ectopic, and not in any respect may have made it to be an finished grown newborn. It to replaced into an coincidence, we had no longer been making plans on having little ones basically yet. even inspite of the actuality that i did not learn about it the we 2d I discovered o replaced into pregnant i replaced right into a mom! And the affection I felt for that little parasite living interior my tube replaced into overwhelming. I actually have a moderate suspicion that could nicely be what u are also feeling. Even tho there replaced into no longer some thing i'd have finished to save that infant, I nevertheless have guilt, and imagine nicely what if I had finished this, or if I had know. i replaced into pregnant quicker the finished issue may were prevented. i'm afraid that u too will experience a similar way, if no more beneficial so because u chosen to abort. back in the accurate that's some thing it truly is one hundred% ur decision. yet i imagine u ought to hearken to no longer in undemanding words your gut yet your heart. proceed being a mom, i imagine u will do basically superb! sturdy success, and congratulations!

A real pro-lifer. It nice to see complete philosophy based on conviction instead being selective based on politics. As for the issue of pro-abortion...I read something, (I am not any expert at this **disclaimer** and I'm stating someone else's opinion) but he was talking that the economics and social impact of legal abortions. He related it to the decrease in crime...his theory was that unwanted born children are more likely to be criminals. Behavior is either genetically or environmentally based and if children are not wanted or nurtured than later they will develop anti social behaviors. I'm not sure if this is valid but I wanted to add something to your forum question so people would thumb up and down me.

The real problem is accountability and responsibility. After all - its not the females fault that she was born a female. Why should SHE have to take responsibility for an unwanted pregnancy? Do not believe the back alley abortion crap they try and feed to you - this is just a cover up to guarantee that selfish females can continue to receive the easy method of birth control - abortion. Ask a feminatzi why she shouldn't be responsible for the choices she makes with her own body?
You will likely get some crap fed back to you that you are part of the "administration" and the government got her pregnant so that they produce more neocons....its all a trap man!
The "government" does not control reproduction! PEOPLE control reproduction. If you do not want to produce children - then get fixed, use birth control, or adopt out the result of your decision.
Regarding the "so called" studies on unwanted children - how were they studied when they never made it out of the womb? How about adoption - plenty of people want children!

Pro-abortion? No
Pro-Choice? Yes
Why do you have to word it that way?
I don't think abortion should be used as a contraception, but if my daughter was 15 yo and got pregnant I'd certainly want her to have an abortion.
What do you think about rape victims? incest? Do you actually believe these poor souls should go full term with an unwanted pregnancy? And don't even say adoption that would be cruel and unusual punishment.
What we need is accessible contraception for teenagers and sex education. AND Pro-Choice rights!
Thank You.

having an abortion is not a crime and it can't hurt anyone but the person getting the abortion (and not all experience physical or mental distress)
you can't compare crimes to medical and lifestyle choices.
(I'm against seat-belt laws. if you want to put your self in danger go for it. if you believe a seat belt does more damage than good I understand why you'd rather just depend on an airbag)
