I would agree that St. John's Wort is garbage. It did nothing for me. I would not suggest going to the "depressionhurts.com" I am currently weening off SSRI's. Yahoo "Inositol"
Great supplement. You can get it at GNC if you like. It is sort of a B Vitamin, but not a Vitamin at all. ALL research shows great results, and I do not go a day without it. Totally natural. Read some on it, and give it a shot.

If you can find some, Kava Kava. I was very depressed and after once week of drinking Kava Kava tea, I felt much better. But first you should find out why you are depressed. Is it emotional, are you nutritionally deficient, could the depression be a negative reaction to something you are eating or drinking? See a doctor that doesn't use synthetic drugs.

st john's wort hasn't the best reputation for these symptoms especially if you are taking other medications, try a herb supplement called Ashwagandha, if things don't improve you may need to see a doctor

You can look at two non-herbal quasi vitamin type preparations. Phosphatydl Serine also known as PS. and/or glycerophosphocholine also known as GPC.
Both of them increase production of neurotransmitters and seem to work in reducing depression/anxiety though I am unaware of any clinical studies that support the anecdotal evidence.

You can try something call Amoryn or B vitamins. But I think both of them are in St. John Wart any way. But I know Amoryn is sold by it's self and so are the Vitamins.

Exercise releases endorphins. You will feel great after doing it. Get some sun, go for a jog, step into a gym. If you continue to exercise, you will start to feel better physically and mentally. It's a commitment, but it really helps.
