Wheelies at high speed are easier to keep up.
Don't stand up stay seated and use your rear brake to get your self out of trouble if you get it up to high. That is the hardest part of learning a wheelie properly because you tend to put your feet on the ground when it happens.
Start learning in first gear get the bike running at about 8000 RPM then gun it, REMEMBER THE REAR BRAKE!
Good luck. I raced 125cc Junior got first place for the year.
I had a GSXR 600 last year love that bike.
Getting a GSXR 1000 this year.

Best way to learn how to do a wheelie is to stay in first gear. Cover the brake with your right foot (in case you go too high) while cruising at around 7-8k rpm, let off the throttle and then open it up hard. Start off with little mini wheelies until you get used to the feeling.
If you want to hold a wheelie... your best bet is to be in second gear, with your right foot over the rear brake. If you go too high, tap the rear brake... coming down, get on the gas again.

I'm not sure if you are asking how to do a wheelie or hold a wheelie. In any case the best way to hold a wheelie is to wheelie in second gear while you are standing on your pegs. By standing you have much better control of your bike as far as balance and being able to gauge how much more or less to use the throttle.

>might this is wiser to place and extra the teeth on the front sprocket and lose a pair on the rear? that ought to make it much less probably to wheelie, it would enhance your suitable speed on the cost of low down potential. a actual difficulty may well be that the lubrication gadget become as much as lubricating the engine for a mile on its rear wheel, you in addition to mght might want a small electric powered motor to maintain the front wheel rotating, its gyroscopic forces allow you to instruction manual your motorcycle (besides the reality that it is not touching the line).

Honestly, get comfortable riding your bike first and foremost. Learn the way it rides and get comfortable with the power it has...then the Wheelie Gods will smile upon you. In other words, lots of experience and please be careful..
