What should I expect? Any recommended companies? Any plants to avoid through mail order?

I used to order through the mail. The bulbs did well, but rose bushes, trees, & bare root stock did not. I went through michigan bulb co. They have a return policy, but it's a hassle to go through. I'd suggest going to lowe's or home depot. They have nice, strong plants & you don't have to pay shipping or wait for them to arrive.

Over the last several years, I have used quite a few different companies to order plants and I am so glad to say I haven't had any issues with not one. I currently have several mail orders and I can't wait until they arrive.

I don't order from them. I go to the local garden centers. Home Depot and Lowes don't have the quality, or the prices that I find at my local vendors. For example, 1 pepper plant at Home Depot, last year, was $1.99. I bought 4 at my local garden center for $1.00. Also, if you shop locally you can see what you're purchasing.

I 2nd Bluestone Perennials. they're extra fee-effective than the extra clever favourite clothing, their high quality is tops and the provider is mind-blowing. I did a wholesale business enterprise with them for years yet they actual have a retail part. despite you do, stay away from Michigan Bulb and different mail-order rip-offs that sound so low-fee of their classified ads interior the Sunday supplementations. remember, you get what you pay for!
