It depends on the area you live in. My first real job was as a receptionist making $10.00/hour and that was about 7 years ago. I had no experience, and no degree. The company was located in a very high end area, so the same job in a lesser area would have only paid $6/hr.

Check at Cingular Wireless for customer service reps. You would anwser the phones and attempt to solve any problems for the customer. I do technical support and is a good job.
Starting out with an associates degree might not quite be $10. I don't know. I know with a Bachelor's they will start you out around $11 or $12. But I am not sure about an Associates.
Check at the cingular website. Scroll to the bottem and choose careers.

You can be a server and average about $18-20 per hour.
You can also apply for personal or executive assistant positions - those average about $15-18 per hour.

Well I clicked on this to suggest getting a job as a bank teller, but I guess you've already thought of that. I dunno what else to suggest, but good luck!
