Does anybody know any interesting facts about the band Chicago? I'm doing a music project, and I can't seem to find anything interesting. Any ideas? Any answer will be greatly appreciated! : ]

Well their manager Peter Schivarelli was also the owner of Demon Dogs hot dog stand on Fullerton Ave. in Chicago near DePaul, the walls were all decorated with all kinds of framed Chicago memorabilia. Then last year the #$%#$%#$ CTA forced them out of business so they could make the damn station bigger. It was a great hot dog. But my point is there is a Chicago / hot dog connection.

Their original lead singer (Terry Kath) killed himself accidently while cleaning a gun.
All of their albums were named by Roman numerals (I, II, III, IV etc.) until the death of Kath, and their next album with a replacement guitarist was called "Hot Streets".
They were originally called "Chicago Transit Authority".
They were one of the first rock bands to play at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
"Color My World" was the theme for more high school proms in the 1970's than any other song.
Their most prominent lead singer (and bassist) Peter Cetera left the band for a successful solo career in 1981.
And, what a great band!!!

There is an instance where Jimi Hendrix said that Chicago's original guitarist was better than him, I think that's interesting, I'd look into that. Chicago's original guitarist is now deceased though, can't recall his name.

Well, their guitarist Terry Kath died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the age of 31....that's pretty interesting!!
