Hallelujah! I can't understand why the Administration doesn't blow these crazy non-issue attacks out of the water. I'm getting tired of them taking the high road and trying to appease these people. (Though, I understand the challenges, since the mainstream media is liberal too. Why else would libs want to resurrect the "fairness" doctrine to silence talk radio?)
Just look at the juvenile, sick comments that appear on this site (and probably in response to your question... just wait). Clearly, these are people who can't get over the fact that they lost two presidential elections. Instead of following our principles of democracy, they are hell bent on getting their way in the press and the courts. God help us!

First of all, if you're going to say something like "Clinton fired 96 federal lawyers" you need to attribute it with a clearly unbiased source. Secondly, since when has the Bush admin been meek with the press? Stonewalling, lying, deflecting and arrogant dismissiveness are hallmarks of this bunch. Oh and by the way, if it's not on an opinion page, the media is reporting on what Democrats (and some Republicans- oops!) are saying, not actually saying it themselves. Gonzalez himself admitted that his department mishandled the firings, although given the Bush admin's lack of credibility, maybe he's lying about that, too.

(93) But I agree, unless there is something shady that hasn't come out yet, they should take a more defensive approach like, "These attorneys refused to investigate blatant voter fraud" .
Take sacked U.S. Attorney John McKay from Washington state. In 2004, the Governor's race was decided in favor of Democrat Christine Gregoire by 129 votes on a third recount. As the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and other media outlets reported, some of the "voters" were deceased, others were registered in storage-rental facilities, and still others were convicted felons. More than 100 ballots were "discovered" in a Seattle warehouse. Clintons mass firings included replacing Attorneys then prosecuting Bill & Hillary, and replacing 1 of them with one of Bills former law students, but that was never scandal worthy to the press.
