Boys are very dominate in my husband's italian family. In fact, out of thirteen grandchildren, only two of them are girls. I am currently 7 months pregant and we have decided not to find out the sex, but my husband is convinced the baby will be a boy. Does anyone know how closely the role my husband's strong genes play in determining the sex of our baby?

his genes don't play into it at all, (I've been hearing the same thing from my husband's family as well). all men have the same amount of x and y carrying sperm, it's a 50/50 chance either way.......nothing like genes, frequency of sex, sexual positions or anything like that can determin the sex of a baby...it's all just luck of the draw!

take a look at this article :)

The man determines the baby's sex every time.

XX = female
XY = male

He has to contribute the Y to make a boy. You have nothing to do with the sex.

The male determins the sex, Depends if the male or female got there first lol the Xor Y, has nothing to do with the female. I have two sisters, no brothers My mom and dad have 7 grandsons no granddaughters, My hubby has 2 brothers and 2 sisters, and his mom and dad have both granddaughters and grandsons.

Mom of 4 boys and 26 weeks with another boy.....

From what I understand ( on a genetic level) men choose the gender of the baby. So if the family has a strong tendency towards male children there is probably a pretty good chance that you will have a boy.

Im not sure about genes but it is the man who determines the sex of the baby as he has XY chromosomes. Not sure how much genes can effect that.

depends which sperm got there first... the one with the x chromosome or the one with the y...
That is what determines the sex of the baby! :)

Congrats and good luck! :)
