My local union overcharged the members for ten years for our health care. We overpaid this money to our administrator(a union owned co). When we ask for our money to be returned we are told "We are not in the refund business or we are not sure how much was overpaid or we think it would be in your best intrest to let us handle it" I figure that I have overpaid atleast 10 thousand dollars to them and I want it back. Who do I contact about our corrupt local to get an investigation and have these thieves prosecuted?

I left my job 2 years ago because in my twenty years we have had 3 business agents walk off with our money and nothing has been done from the international to stop the problem. I refuse to contribute to them

Sounds like you need to join, or organize, a class action suit.

Also, these people holding the money may have committed crimes. I'd check that out too.

Good luck.

Unions are nothing but legalized extortion rackets. They should be banned!! You will need to get together with other victims and file a lawsuit against the Union and its administration as well as the union owned company. Going to law enforcement or politicians will probably do no good as they are in the unions pockets and being paid off. If you have solid proof, a few well placed newspaper articles will give them a nudge.

The National Labor Relations Board would be the best place to start. Now, of this is so terrible, are you going to denounce the Union and quit your job and find a non-union job now?

They've never found Hoffa and Robert Kennedy did not live long enough to be president. And people wonder why jobs go off shore.
