i have this friend and she is hecka in love with this guy but the thing is i like him too and she knows that so she started liking him now i got a boyfriend just to get over him did i do the right the thing for a friend??

first of all... the fact that you got a boyfriend to stop liking the other guy was not a smart idea because deep down inside you still have feelings for the other guy whether you know it or don't. the second thing is, that you did do the right thing because though your friend may not realize this, you know that friendship is more important than any guy unless the guy is also you best friend, but in this case i dont think he is....
personally, i have made a couple rules for myself in relationship situations, and one of them is, if my best friend and I like the same guy, then we both dont get him, or i will step aside because i know she wont..., thus you are being the bigger person by keeping the integrity of your friendship... plus on the other hand you might realize he is a total jerk and by that point you will be glad you didnt waste your time on him
but it is not fair for you boyfriend because it seems like you only went out with him to get your mind off of the other guy... make she he knows that you might have feelings for this other guy, because your feelings for him might get in the way later on.

No, you've just complicated the situation. Your feelings won't go away. You can do 1 of 2 things, try to forget about it or break up your current boyfriend and tell him how you feel.
I don't know if either is smart but they're choices.
