I sold an item on ebay a week ago.the buyer has paid by e-cheque through paypal. how long doea this take to clear. i have never heard of e cheques

It takes an E-check 2-4 days to clear. It may take a little longer if they are from and International bank.
They are perfectly safe. I get them all the time.
Just DO NOT send the item until the e-check has cleared.

Can take 10-20 days. Dont send the item until the cheque is clear

If a buyer doesn't have the money in their Paypal account when they pay and has back up funding, Paypal will go to their bank and request the money to cover the payment. It usually takes 3-4 business days. You'll get another email when it clears and you can send the item out to the buyer.
