I told my boyfriend of 4 years I was pregnant the day I found out. He said "what!? Oh my god, you're kidding. I have to call you back" About 15 minutes later, he called me back and said he had felt like he was gonna have a heart attack, but then he said he calmed down since we had gotten off the phone and calmed ME down and said that he loved me no matter what and it is our baby and we'll take care of it. He said not to stress and that we would get through it.

I always wanted to be a Mommy since I was a little girl. I did become pregnant and he was not happy. Eventually, I suffered a miscarriage. I was devastated. About a year later, I became pregnant again. He was very happy and supportive. He liked the idea of being a Dad. He hoped for a boy (like most men) he was disappointed when the ultrasound revealed we were having a girl. He naturally fell in love with her when she was born. She will be 10 years old on March 24th of this year.

I think it's just different for everyone.

My hubby got a little teary eyed and got really excited, but I've had friends whose boyfriend/husband hasn't really reacted at all. Some guys don't want to get too excited in the beginning because they're worried something could go wrong.

I think he'll come around, especially once you get further along. He's probably just worried about you. But once he hears the heartbeat, and sees the ultrasound and everything he'll get excited!

Good luck and Congrats!

Were you trying?? My husband was in a quiet haze for a few days but OBVIOUSLY excited. Is he wanting to tell people? THis would be a big sign of excitement.... he also could be waiting to see a reaction from you if you werent trying. He might want to see if you're scared or excited before he shows you anything. It's perfectly normal for a guy to worry a lot, just keep open communication and let him know how happy you are that you can share this with him. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATULATIONS!!

It can take getting used to. At least yours is still with you. I didn't find out that I was pregnant until I was giving birth to a stillborn. I still remember the look of disgust on my husbands face when we figured out what was going on. I came home from the hospital on a Friday, he left me on Saturday, with nothing.

Don't bug him about it, give him some space, and start doing things to get ready for the baby. Whether he is ready or not, you both have a child on the way, and you need to prepare. Don't worry about getting too emotional, because you are going to, just learn to smile even though you don't feel like it.

The first thing that my husband said was, "Wow."

We spent the next three days discussing options (as this wasn't planned). It's easier for a man to consider abortion than a woman, without a doubt.

I put down my foot, though, and told him that we were having this baby.

We will have a baby daughter within the next ten weeks (I hope it's not longer), and he can't wait, now.

I think that once he has time to adjust, he'll get used to the idea. He DID want kids one day, right?

My husband and I were both told at the same time by the doctor. We had tried for years and lost babies. So we both were very excited. I cried and he got teary eyed (didn't want to cry in front of the doctor. I guess it's a man thing). When we were walking out of the office he grabbed my hand and sang "She's having my baby". He couldn't wait to tell everyone. I had a hard time keeping him quiet until we knew for sure everything was alright.

MY husband said that 's wonderful and then proceeded to act as though nothing happened until of course the birth. It could be that your husband will be one of those guys that won;t feel it's real until the baby arrives, or he just doesn't know what to do just yet most (normal) men who want children are happy to hear that their partner is pregnant. Maybe he just needs time.

I didn't have to tell him.....he told me. We really wanted to be, so when I took the HPT, I didn't have the nerve to look at the results. So he looked, and let me know what it was.

Did he say anything at all? Did he at least look happy? He could be in shock, or something similar to shock. He may be thinking "I'm not ready to be a daddy." But, don't be afraid to ask him what he's thinking......a marriage is a partnership, and you should always be able to ask your partner anything.
