National University -- located in La Jolla California (just outside of San Diego) is an online college. Most of these schools are For Profit Corporations that charge less than prestigious private universities and more than good public universities. Many have regional accreditation -- which is not hard to get, but lack prestigious national accreditation.

The bottom line is that employers will not take a degree from a school like this very seriously.

Do you mean the University of California, San Diego? That's a fairly respected school. Not the best in the UC system, but not a bad school.

Or do you mean California National University, which is a distance learning school? That school isn't well respected. It's accredited, but not at the most rigorous level. It's accredited along the lines of a vocational school.

Actually NU has full accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities.

This happens to be the same accreditation that UCSD, SDSU, UCCSM and USD have.
